Practice Lines
Practice lines contain the material presented by Kx Toolbox for practice.
A basic practice line begins with a dash followed by a space:
- Hola.- Buenos días.- ¿Cómo estás?A Practice Set can contain one practice line or many.
Answers
Section titled “Answers”A practice line can include an answer:
- ¿Cómo estás? [ans: "Estoy muy bien."]The text before the bracketed instruction is the practice content.
The ans instruction supplies corresponding answer content.
Multiple Instructions
Section titled “Multiple Instructions”A line can contain several instructions:
- Buenos días. [front:waiter, v:H, back:customer, ans: "Buenos días."]Instructions inside the brackets are separated by commas.
Depending on the instruction, line metadata can control such features as:
- answers
- languages
- voices
- speakers
- pronunciation
- visuals
- scenes
Lines Without a Dash
Section titled “Lines Without a Dash”Most Practice Sets use dashed practice lines. The existing corpus also contains prose-oriented Practice Sets where content appears without a leading dash.
Kx Markdown therefore distinguishes the content of a Practice Set from the optional metadata that can be attached to individual lines.
